Many people have the impression that libraries are less useful than in years past. It is true that we can now look to the Internet instead of a quiet library to find information and reading material. However, libraries today provide the internet access that is not otherwise available to those lacking the capability of connecting to broadband at home.
Furthermore, libraries have evolved over the years to provide much more than books. Read about the MakerTools that have become available at Fontana Regional Library over the past year. The regional library was much different when it came together 75 years ago! Our libraries today provide a space for community to gather for frequent events large and small, public and private.
Fontana Regional Library no longer has a bookmobile bringing books to people in their homes, but there is a useful or entertaining service suited to anyone, whether looking to learn, socializing at the library, or accessing digital resources from home.
